Job summary

North End Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive respiratory care for residents with complex pulmonary needs. You will assess, treat, educate, and monitor patients across the care continuum in a 100-bed sub-acute and long-term care setting.

Qualifications include an active RRT credential and state licensure; 3+ years of experience preferred, including tracheostomy and ventilator management.

Qualifications

• RRT credential required or NBRC equivalent.
• Current state licensure required.
• Minimum 3 years respiratory therapy experience preferred.
• Experience with tracheostomy care and ventilator management in SNF/LTACH/hospital settings.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive chest assessments and respiratory examinations.
• Consult with physicians and interdisciplinary team to develop and modify treatment plans.
• Conduct diagnostic testing including lung function and blood gas evaluation.
• Administer respiratory therapies (oxygen, aerosols, chest physiotherapy).
• Monitor ventilator-dependent residents and initiate ventilation support when needed.
• Track residents’ respiratory status and maintain equipment function.
• Educate residents and families on treatments, equipment, and medications.
• Document treatments and resident progress accurately per standards.

$40-$45 an hour (all-inclusive)

$5 PIB for FT

Guided by our core values of Passion, Respect, and Excellence, the Respiratory Therapist provides skilled assessment, treatment, and education to residents requiring respiratory support across the care continuum.

Responsibilities for Respiratory Therapist:

• Perform comprehensive chest assessments and respiratory examinations for a diverse resident population.
• Consult with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to develop, evaluate, and modify individualized treatment plans.
• Perform diagnostic testing, including lung capacity measurements and evaluation of blood gas levels.
• Administer respiratory therapies, including oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy.
• Manage and monitor ventilator-dependent residents, including initiation of ventilator support when necessary.
• Conduct regular monitoring of residents’ respiratory status and ensure proper functioning of respiratory equipment.
• Educate residents and families on respiratory treatments, equipment use, and medication administration.
• Maintain accurate documentation of treatments, assessments, and resident progress in accordance with clinical standards.

Qualifications for Respiratory Therapist:

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care required.
• Current state licensure required.
• Minimum of 3 years of respiratory therapy experience preferred.
• Experience with tracheostomy care and ventilator management in a skilled nursing facility, LTACH, or hospital setting required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively engage residents, families, and clinical teams.
