Job summary

Banyan Pulmonary Services in Vermont is recruiting a Respiratory Therapist to join a long-term care model that emphasizes owning outcomes and building relationships with residents.

You will provide hands-on respiratory care, collaborate with nursing and physicians, and help drive improved patient outcomes in a non-hospital setting. The role requires an RT license and BLS.

Qualifications

• Current state and national Respiratory Therapist licensure in good standing.
• Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Respiratory Therapy.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or obtain within 30 days of hire).
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification if working with residents in ventilator units (or obtain within six months of hire).

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on respiratory care (nebs, assessments, airway clearance, etc.).
• Track progress and adjust care plans.
• Work directly with nursing + physicians to improve outcomes.
• Be the respiratory expert in the building.

What You Need

• Active RT license (RRT or CRT)
• BLS (ACLS if working with vents — can get after hire)
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills

Physical & Work Requirements:

• Position requires walking for approximately 10–12 hours per day.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, and manual handling of equipment.
• Work performed under varying temperatures and environmental conditions.
• Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required to meet operational needs.
• Ability to tolerate high-pressure and fast-paced clinical environments.
• Requires talking, hearing, seeing, and fine motor coordination for patient care and equipment management.
