Job summary

Orchard Hill Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a full-time, on-site role with hours 7am-3pm Monday through Friday.

Licensed RRT with current state licensure is required. The position involves patient assessments, ventilator management, and collaboration with physicians and the care team to optimize respiratory care for residents.

Qualifications

• RRT credential and active state licensure required.
• Minimum 3 years of respiratory therapy experience preferred.
• Experience with tracheostomy care and ventilator management in SNF/LTACH/hospital.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive chest assessments and respiratory examinations for a diverse resident population.
• Consult with physicians and interdisciplinary team to develop, evaluate, and modify treatment plans.
• Perform diagnostic testing, including lung capacity measurements and blood gas evaluation.
• Administer respiratory therapies, including oxygen, aerosols, and chest physiotherapy.
• Manage ventilator-dependent residents and initiate ventilation as needed.
• Monitor residents’ respiratory status and equipment function.
• Educate residents and families on treatments, equipment use, and medications.
• Maintain accurate documentation of treatments and progress.

7am-3pm Monday - Friday

$40 - $55 / hour (all inclusive)

Responsibilities for Respiratory Therapist:

• Perform comprehensive chest assessments and respiratory examinations for a diverse resident population.
• Consult with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to develop, evaluate, and modify individualized treatment plans.
• Perform diagnostic testing, including lung capacity measurements and evaluation of blood gas levels.
• Administer respiratory therapies, including oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy.
• Manage and monitor ventilator-dependent residents, including initiation of ventilator support when necessary.
• Conduct regular monitoring of residents’ respiratory status and ensure proper functioning of respiratory equipment.
• Educate residents and families on respiratory treatments, equipment use, and medication administration.
• Maintain accurate documentation of treatments, assessments, and resident progress in accordance with clinical standards.

Qualifications for Respiratory Therapist:

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care required.
• Current state licensure required.
• Minimum of 3 years of respiratory therapy experience preferred.
• Experience with tracheostomy care and ventilator management in a skilled nursing facility, LTACH, or hospital setting required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively engage residents, families, and clinical teams.
