MercyOne Health System is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join our team in Illinois. You will assess patients, administer therapy, consult with clinicians, and manage respiratory equipment across age groups from neonate to geriatric.

Qualifications

• Must be credentialed as a certified or registered respiratory therapist by the NBRC.
• Must have an active license as a respiratory care practitioner in the State of Iowa upon hire.
• BLS certification within 3 months of hire.
• ACLS certification within one year of hire (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Performs inhaled medication therapy and airway management techniques as ordered by physician.
• Participates in CPR and assists with intubation and transport of ventilated patients.
• Assembles, troubleshoots and maintains respiratory care equipment and circuits.
• Interprets diagnostic results including blood gas analysis and pulmonary function tests.
• Maintains accurate medical records, billing, and documentation.
• Provides patient instruction on respiratory care devices and procedures.

Education

NBRC credential (Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist)

Iowa respiratory care practitioner license
