Job summary

MercyOne Health System seeks a Respiratory Therapist to assess patients, evaluate therapy options, administer treatments, consult with clinicians, and monitor responses. The role covers neonatal to geriatric care across a full care continuum.

This full-time day-shift position offers a sign-on bonus up to $20,000, relocation assistance, and a comprehensive benefits package including education reimbursement and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Certified or registered respiratory therapist per NBRC on hire.
• Active Iowa license as respiratory care practitioner on hire.
• BLS certification within 3 months of hire.
• Abuse mandatory reporter training within 6 months and every 3 years; ACLS preferred within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Performs inhaled medication therapy and various airway/ventilatory therapies as ordered.
• Participates in CPR, assists or performs intubation and transport of ventilated patients.
• Assembles, troubleshoots respiratory care equipment including ventilators and monitors.
• Interprets diagnostic results such as ABG, pulmonary function tests, and capnometry.
• Performs record keeping, billing and medical records documentation.
• Provides patient instruction on respiratory care devices and procedures.
