Edward Elmhurst Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for per diem coverage at Glenbrook Hospital in Glenview, IL. The role supports neonatal through geriatric patients, with shifts Mon-Fri and weekends on a rotating basis. You will assess, document, and monitor responses to therapy per hospital policy.

The position requires an accredited RT program, RRT (or registry-eligible), IL license within six months, and CPR. Additional credentials (ACLS/NRP/PALS) are required within 24 months.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or registry-eligible.
• Illinois licensure within six months of employment.
• Current CPR certification.
• ACLS/NRP/PALS required within 24 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assists Physicians with Respiratory Therapy procedures.
• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered by physicians.
• Assess patients to determine most suitable method of administering treatment.
• Document treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities and transcribe verbal or phone orders.
• Communicate to patient and family the treatment being performed.
• Monitor patient physiological response to therapy, with focus on pediatric and neonatal patients.
• Provide patient and staff education.
