Job summary

Endeavor Health in Elmhurst, IL is seeking a Respiratory Therapist - Nights to join our hospital-based team. This full-time role offers 36 hours per week with rotating weekends and holidays, and a generous sign-on bonus of $25,000.

You will provide respiratory therapy across neonatal to geriatric patients, document treatments, monitor responses, and educate patients and staff. Requires CoARC-accredited program, RRT or registry-eligible, IL licensure within six months, and current

• Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• RRT or registry eligible status.
• Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure within six months.
• CPR certification (American Heart Association) within 24 months.
• ACLS within 24 months.
• NRP within 24 months.
• PALS within 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Assists physicians with Respiratory Therapy procedures as requested.
• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered by physicians.
• Assess patients to determine most suitable method of administering treatment.
• Document treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities and transcribe orders.
• Communicate treatment details to patient and family clearly.
• Monitor patient physiological response to therapy with emphasis on pediatric and neonatal patients.
• Provide patient and staff education.

Hourly Pay Range: $33.16 - $49.74

Position Highlights:

• Sign on bonus: $25,000
• Position: Respiratory Therapist - Nights
• Location: Elmhurst Hospital - Elmhurst, IL
• Full Time | 36 hours/week
• Hours: shifts will vary Monday - Friday from 7:00pm to 7:30am with every third weekend and rotating holidays required

What you will do:

• Assists Physicians, as requested with Respiratory Therapy procedures
• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered by physicians according hospital policy and procedures
• Assess patients to determine most suitable method of administering treatment
• Document treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities and transcribe verbal or phone order by physicians
• Communicate to patient and family the treatment being performed in a clear manner
• Monitor patient physiological response to therapy with special attention to the pediatric and neonatal patients
• Provide patient and staff education

What you will need:

• Education: Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program, as determined by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC)
• License/Certifications: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or proof of registry eligible status.
• State of Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure within six months of employment.
• Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) within 24 months of employment
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) within 24 months of employment
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) within 24 months of employment
