Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist - RRT for Highland Park Hospital, Highland Park, IL. This part-time role offers 20 hours per week with 8- or 12-hour shifts and a $5,000 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• Licensed by the State of Illinois as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• Graduate of an AMA approved school of respiratory therapy.
• CPR (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association.
• 6 months healthcare setting experience preferred; 1 year of adult critical care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered by physicians.
• Assess patients to determine most suitable method of administering treatment.
• Document treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities and transcribe orders.
• Communicate treatment plans to patients and families clearly.
• Monitor patient response to therapy with focus on pediatric and neonatal patients.
• Provide patient and staff education.

$33.16 - $49.74 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

8 or 12 hour shifts available from 7am - 3pm and 7am - 7pm with every other weekend rotation and holidays required

What you will do

• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered by physicians according hospital policy and procedures
• Assess patients to determine most suitable method of administering treatment
• Document treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities and transcribe verbal or phone order by physicians
• Communicate to patient and family the treatment being performed in a clear manner
• Monitor patient physiological response to therapy with special attention to the pediatric and neonatal patients
• Provide patient and staff education

What will you need

• License: Licensed by the State of Illinois as a Respiratory Care Practitioner, required
• Education: Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of respiratory therapy, required
• Certification: CPR (BLS) issued by American Heart Association, required
• Experience: 6 months experience in a health care setting preferred, 1 year of adult critical care experience, neonatal or adult, preferred
