Job summary

Endeavor Health’s Elmhurst Hospital in Elmhurst, IL is seeking a Respiratory Therapist - Nights. You will provide respiratory care across neonatal to geriatric patients, under physician orders, with documentation and family communication as required.

Shifts are 7:00pm–7:30am, every third weekend and rotating holidays. The role requires CoARC-accredited education, RRT or registry eligibility, IL licensure within six months, CPR, ACLS, NRP and PALS within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program (CoARC).
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or registry-eligible status.
• Illinois licensure within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with Respiratory Therapy procedures as requested.
• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal to geriatric patients as ordered by physicians.
• Assess patients to determine the most suitable method of administering treatment.
• Document treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities and transcribe orders.
• Communicate treatment to patient and family clearly.

Hourly Pay Range:

$33.16 - $49.74 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Sign on bonus: $25,000

• Position: Respiratory Therapist - Nights

• Location: Elmhurst Hospital - Elmhurst, IL

• Full Time | 36 hours/week

• Hours: shifts will vary Monday - Friday from 7:00pm to 7:30am with every third weekend and rotating holidays required

What you will do:

• Assists Physicians, as requested with Respiratory Therapy procedures

• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered by physicians according hospital policy and procedures

• Assess patients to determine most suitable method of administering treatment

• Document treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities and transcribe verbal or phone order by physicians

• Communicate to patient and family the treatment being performed in a clear manner

• Monitor patient physiological response to therapy with special attention to the pediatric and neonatal patients

• Provide patient and staff education

What you will need:

• Education: Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program, as determined by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC)

• License/Certifications: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or proof of registry eligible status.

• State of Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure within six months of employment.

• Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) within 24 months of employment

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) within 24 months of employment

• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) within 24 months of employment
