Job summary

Medical City Heart & Spine Hospitals in Texas is seeking a Respiratory Therapist RRT to join our team. The role coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in line with department standards and state requirements.

You will perform assessments, administer therapies, assist with artificial airways and ventilation, monitor responses, and support ventilator-dependent patients. A strong team approach and emergency responsiveness are essential.

Qualifications

• NBRC-RRT certification is required.
• RRT/RCP-State licensure is required.
• BCLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure; conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate need for and response to respiratory therapy.
• Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
• Assist with placement of artificial airways; initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
• Monitor patient for therapeutic response; notify provider and intervene as appropriate in case of unintended response.
• Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients.
• Respond to emergent patient situations and ensure airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation.
