Job summary

Saint Mary’s Hospital, part of Trinity Health Of New England, is hiring a Respiratory Therapist for a 24-hour-per-week schedule (two 12-hour day shifts, 7a–7p). Join our Respiratory Care Department and provide high-quality patient care with independent clinical judgment.

Requirements include an Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Care, CT license, and NBRC RRT/CRT certification. The role offers a sign-on bonus up to $5,000 and benefits starting day one.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Care (2-year Associate's).
• Current CT Respiratory Care Practitioner License.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified (CRT) by NBRC.
• Thorough knowledge of respiratory care procedures and patient care techniques.

Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory care as part of the Respiratory Care Department.
• Function clinically with independent judgment for patient care quality.
• Serve as technical resource to physicians and other health care workers.
• Set up, operate and manage patient care on respiratory equipment (ventilators, CPAP/NIPPV, high flow).

Position Purpose

• The Respiratory Therapist shall be responsible for the administration of respiratory care offered by the Respiratory Care Department at Saint Mary's Hospital

  What you will do

  • The Respiratory Therapist shall be responsible for the administration of respiratory care offered by the Respiratory Care Department

  • Function clinically with a considerable amount of independent judgment regarding the delivery of quality patient care

  • Serve as a technical resource person to the physicians and other health care workers, with regard to current practices in respiratory care

  • Sets up, operates and manages patient care on respiratory related equipment such as mechanical ventilators, NIPPV/CPAP, or High Flow Oxygen devices; Manages patients on invasive mechanical ventilation modes (AC, PSV, PC, APRV, Bi-level)

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Care, minimum of a two-year Associate's Degree

• Current State of CT Respiratory Care Practitioner License

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified (CRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).

• Thorough knowledge of the procedures and patient care techniques involved in the delivery of respiratory care
