Qualifications

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapist program (CAAHEP-accredited).
• Current state licensure as a respiratory therapist.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through NBRC.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Interviews, examines and assesses patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders.
• Consults with physicians to develop patient treatment plans and creates therapy programs.
• Performs diagnostic tests such as measuring lung capacity and blood gas analysis.
• Treats patients using chest physiotherapy, aerosols, CPAP and BIPAP therapies; may ventilate.
• Monitors and records progress and educates patients on therapies.
