Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner to perform direct patient care across all aspects of respiratory therapy under physician orders. You will consult with physicians on therapy effectiveness and serve as an advanced resource for the care team.

The ideal candidate holds an CoArc-approved Respiratory Care program degree, an active RCP license, and NBRC RRT credential. ACLS is preferred, PALS for ER staff, with physical demands outlined above.

Qualifications

• Graduate of CoArc approved Respiratory Care program.
• Meets state licensure requirements and has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• NBRC credential: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• PALS is required for co-workers who work in the Emergency Room.
• ACLS is preferred.
• Physical demands include push, pull and grip up to 50 lbs; pinch up to 10 lbs; kneel, crouch and crawl.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care, according to physician's orders.
• Consults physicians on effectiveness of therapy.
• Acts as an advanced resource person for physicians and nursing on respiratory care.
• Performs duties as assigned.
