Job summary

Ashley Regional Medical Center in Vernal, UT, part of Lifepoint Health, is hiring a Respiratory Therapist (RRT). You will examine patients, develop treatment plans with physicians, and perform therapies, including lung function tests and blood gas analysis.

Expect duties across patient education, equipment maintenance, and emergency response. Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in respiratory therapy and UT licensure as an RCP with BLS; ACLS/PALS/NRP are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in respiratory therapy and UT licensure as RCP required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS, PALS and NRP certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Examines patients with breathing-related conditions and conducts diagnostic testing.
• Consults with physicians to develop and implement a treatment plan for the patient.
• Performs physiotherapy and other treatments and teaches patients to use medications.
• Measures lung capacity and analyzes blood samples using a blood gas analyzer.
• Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy per care plan.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices.
• Responds to codes and calls for emergent assistance.
• Educates the patient and family about the illness and resources.
• Maintains and sterilizes equipment and manages respiratory care supplies.

How You'll Contribute

• Examines patients with breathing-related conditions and conducts diagnostic testing.

• Monitors, receives, stocks, and distributes respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders. Maintains storage areas with required supply levels and equipment. Disassembles, cleans, and sterilizes equipment, and performs preventative maintenance and calibration of machines.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a bachelor's degree in respiratory therapy program and be licensed in the state of UT as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP). Additional requirements include:

• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) required with ACLS, PALS and NRP certifications preferred.
