Job summary

Ashley Regional Medical Center in Vernal, UT is seeking an experienced RN OR Circulator to join our surgical services team. You will perform care interventions, monitor patients, and ensure accurate documentation and collaboration with the care team.

We require a Utah RN license (or compact), an associate degree, and BCLS; ACLS/PALS within six months. This role includes call responsibilities and opportunities for professional growth in a rural hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Current Utah state RN license or Compact License with Utah endorsement.
• Associate's degree from an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred.
• BCLS certification upon hospital orientation; ACLS and PALS within six months of hire.
• Critical thinking, decisive judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• One year of prior experience preferred in OR/surgical setting.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions including medication administration, specimen collection and procedure-related treatments.
• Documents patient care given and monitors patient condition for care team and family.
• Positions and preps patients for procedures; monitors during procedures; ensures supplies are accounted for.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care including transfer, discharge, referrals, and psychosocial support.
• Provides patient and family education appropriate to age and culture; advocates for patient well-being.
• Prepares and cleans OR suites, maintains equipment and sterile supplies; ensures on-time patient presence in the surgical suite.
• Must be able to take call.

How you'll contribute

A OR Circulatorwho excels in this role:

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical
  treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and
  family.
• Positions and preps patients correctly for procedures, assesses and monitors patient during procedure,
  provides an accounting for all supplies during and after procedure, communicates effectively with physician
  throughout procedures.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge,
  referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age,
  culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Prepares and cleans OR suites, handles and maintains equipment and supplies, sets up sterile supplies for
  procedures, and has patient in surgical suite on time.
• Required to take call.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an Associate's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Certifications: BCLS upon completion of hospital orientation; ACLS and PALS within six months of hire or transfer date to position.
• Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Experience: One-year previous experience preferred.
• Licenses: Must have a current Utah state license or Compact License with Utah endorsement
• Education: Associate's degree required. BSN preferred.
