Job summary

Ashley Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Medical/Surgical unit in Vernal, Utah. This role focuses on assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive nursing care to promote patient recovery and well-being.

Ideal candidates hold a state RN license, an Associate degree in nursing, and are prepared to obtain ACLS/PALS within six months.

Qualifications

• Current state RN license in the state of practice.
• Associate degree from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• BCLS certification required; ACLS and PALS within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient’s condition and nursing care needs.
• Develops individual nursing care plans and implements care plans.
• Administers medications, treatments and therapies.
• Collaborates with physicians and hospital staff.
• Documents nursing observations, treatments and care provided.
• Educates patients and families about condition and care.

How You’ll Contribute

A Med/Surg RN who excels in this role:

• Assesses the patient’s condition and nursing care needs.
• Sets goals and prescribes appropriate nursing interventions to meet physical, psychological, social and rehabilitative needs of patients.
• Develops individual nursing care plans.
• Implements care plans and makes revisions as needed.
• Evaluates patient care outcomes.
• Collaborates with physicians and other hospital employees.
• Administers medications, treatments and therapies.
• Communicates with patients and oversees provision of care.
• Provides patients and/or family with instruction and education relevant to condition.
• Accurately documents nursing observations, assessments, medications, treatments, and other care given.

What We’re Looking For

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an Associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Certifications: BCLS upon completion of hospital orientation; ACLS and PALS within six months of hire or transfer date to position.
• Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Experience: One-year previous experience preferred.
• Licenses: Must have a current RN license in the state of practice.
• Education: Associate’s degree required. BSN preferred.
