Job summary

The Paramount at Somers Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist RN for weekend and evening hours (approximately 15 hours per week). Qualifications include an Associate or BSN with an active RN license and prior respiratory therapy experience in acute, critical care or related settings.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan and implement respiratory care plans for patients with acute or chronic respiratory conditions
• Administer respiratory treatments, including oxygen therapy, incentive spirometry and nebulization
• Monitor patient conditions, record vital signs, and assess respiratory status
• Educate patients and families on respiratory equipment, treatments, and disease management
• Collaborate with providers and other healthcare professionals to develop and adjust care plans
• Participate in rounds, care conferences and patient discharge planning meetings
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards
• Ensure adherence to infection control practices and safety protocols

Job description

Responsibilities include:

1. Respiratory Therapy:

2. Documentation and Compliance:

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Education: Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (AND or BSN) required
• Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State
• Experience: Previous experience in respiratory therapy, critical care, or related areas
