Job summary

Sanford Health in Bemidji, MN is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Bemidji Medical Center. Work is on the night shift with a 12-hour schedule and a full-time position offering roughly 36 hours per week.

You will assess patients, measure lung capacity, provide diagnosis-based treatment suggestions, and work across general and critical care areas. Generous benefits, sign-on bonuses up to $30k–$40k, shift differentials, and opportunities for advancement are included.

Qualifications

• A degree in Respiratory Care from an accredited program is required; minimum associate degree or NBRC equivalent.
• Respiratory Therapists must have knowledge of respiratory procedures, equipment, and indications.
• Ability to use computers for patient documentation and data gathering.
• Must complete orientations, competency validations, and in-servicing as required by the department.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients to prevent, detect, monitor and manage disease and complications.
• Measure lung capacity to determine impairments.
• Offer diagnosis results and treatment suggestions based on analysis.
• Work across multiple clinical areas from general floors to critical care.

Qualifications

• A degree in Respiratory Care from an accredited respiratory care program is required; minimum associate degree or equivalent as defined by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• Respiratory Therapists must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of all procedures, indications, contraindications and hazards involved in respiratory care, as well as knowledge of equipment utilized in their department.
• Demonstrates the ability and knowledge required to utilize computers for patient documentation and data gathering for quality care.
• Must complete orientations, competency validations, and other in‑servicing as required by the department and hospital.
• Must have current Respiratory Therapy licensure in state(s) of practice and/or possess multi‑state licensure privileges as required by position.
• Must have Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials as attained through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) and maintain active status according to NBRC credentialing requirements.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required. Must obtain site‑specific specialty credential(s) such as Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), etc.
