Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, FL, seeks a Respiratory Therapist to join the Respiratory Care department on the day shift. You will assess patients, develop care plans, operate and monitor respiratory care equipment, and coordinate with the care team.

The role requires BLS, Florida RT credential, and applicable ALS credentials. A relevant degree or equivalent experience is accepted.

Qualifications

• BLS within 30 days of hire date.
• Respiratory Therapist credential Florida before hire date.
• Advanced Life Support preferred.
• Pediatric/Neonatal life support credentials encouraged.

• Evaluates respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcome.
• Educates the patient and family about the health condition and provides information about community support groups and other available programs.
• Responds to emergency resuscitation team code.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the Florida Board of Respiratory Care obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Certified Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the Florida Board of Respiratory Care required.
• Preferred Credential(s):
• Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
