Job summary

Corpus Christi Medical Center Doctors Regional is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for PRN opportunities in Corpus Christi, TX. You will guide patients through routine and critical care, performing diagnostic and therapeutic ventilation procedures across care settings with access to advanced respiratory technology.

You will assess respiratory status, deliver evidence-based therapy, manage ventilation and airways, support patients and families, and maintain equipment to uphold safety

Qualifications

• ACLS must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
• Neonate Resuscitation must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
• NBRC-RRT certification as Registered Respiratory Therapist is required.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Assess respiratory status by performing focused exams, interpreting breath sounds and airway patency; determine need for interventions.
• Deliver evidence-based therapy by providing oxygen support, aerosolized medications, airway clearance techniques and other treatments across emergency, critical care and acute settings.
• Manage ventilation and airways by assisting with artificial airway placement and initiating/inviting adjustments to invasive and noninvasive ventilation; monitor responses and react to changes.
• Support patients and the care team by educating patients and families, serving as a clinical resource, partnering with physicians and nurses, and assisting with newborn stabilization during deliveries if needed.
• Maintain equipment and safety by setting up, operating, and cleaning respiratory devices; ensure readiness, preventive maintenance, transport of ventilated patients, and adherence to infection-prevention standards.
