Job summary

Corewell Health Trenton Hospital is seeking a part-time Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our respiratory care team. You will implement and evaluate diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory services to support physicians in patient care.

You will participate in education of patients, students, staff and physicians, provide technical support for respiratory equipment, and assist with general department functions.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy is required.
• RRT NBRC status eligibility is required upon hire.
• Michigan licensure for Respiratory Therapist upon hire.
• NBRC CRT Respiratory Therapist registry required upon hire.
• BLS certification (AHA/ARC) required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the education of patients, students, staff and physicians.

Corewell Health Hospital Trenton is a 193-bed acute care teaching hospital that sponsors nine university-affiliated residency programs. The hospital opened its doors to Trenton and its surrounding communities in 1961. It became part of Corewell Health in September 2014. In addition to providing comprehensive medical and surgical care for its patients, the hospital offers all private beds, a medical and surgical intensive care unit and obstetrical care.

Scope of Work

Under minimal direction, the Registered Respiratory Therapist: implements and evaluates diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory services to assist physicians in the diagnosis and management of patients with cardiopulmonary and related disorders; participates in the education of patients, students, staff and physicians; provides technical support for all equipment related to the practice of Respiratory Care; assists with general department functions.

Qualifications

• Required Associate’s Degree Respiratory Therapy
• Eligible for position after attainment of RRT NBRC status. Required
• LIC-Respiratory Therapist - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
• CRT-Respiratory Therapist Registry - NBRC National Board for Respiratory Care Upon Hire required
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required Or
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Upon Hire required
