Job Summary and Qualifications

The Respiratory Therapist provides high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care, performing diagnostic tests, therapeutic procedures, and monitoring ventilated patients.

What You Will Do

• Perform and document patient assessments and diagnostic procedures.
• Administer respiratory therapies, including oxygen, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy.
• Assist with artificial airway placement and manage mechanical ventilation.
• Monitor responses to therapy and notify providers of any issues.
• Transport ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergencies ensuring airway and ventilation support.

What Qualifications You Will Need

• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment.
• RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner certification.
• Texas Medical Board license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Care program recognized by NBRC.
• Minimum one year of acute care respiratory experience.
• If hired after 4/1/2015, credentialed as RRT or RPFT by NBRC upon hire.
