Job Summary and Qualifications

The Respiratory Therapist provides high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care, including diagnostic tests, therapeutic procedures, and monitoring patients on mechanical ventilation, in accordance with standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document patient assessments, conduct diagnostic procedures, administer therapies, assist with airway placement, initiate and monitor mechanical ventilation, and respond to emergent situations.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of start.
• RRT or RCP credential.
• Texas Medical Board license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Care program recognized by NBRC.
• Minimum one year of respiratory care experience in an acute care setting.
• If hired after 4/1/2015, credentialed as RRT or RPFT by NBRC upon hire.
