Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital - Birmingham is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RT) for a PRN night shift at the Birmingham, AL location. You will evaluate patients, provide respiratory care for critically ill individuals, and support ETT procedures on the third floor at Brookwood Baptist Medical Center.

The ideal candidate holds an NBRC CRT or RRT credential, current BLS, state licensure, and ACLS (upon hire). Prior experience is preferred; a 401(k) option is available for part-time/per diem roles.

Qualifications

• NBRC CRT or RRT credential required.
• Proof of graduation required: college transcript/diploma or high school transcript/diploma or GED.
• BLS certification must be current by start date.
• Current state licensure required; ACLS required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Evaluating patients and recommending an appropriate treatment plan.
• Providing respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions.
• Performing insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes.
• Promoting continuous quality improvement.
• Teaching and counseling patients/families.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Position: Respiratory Therapist (RT)

Location: Birmingham, AL(3rd floor of Brookwood Baptist Medical Center)

Schedule: PRN Nightshift - 6:30 pm to 7:00 am

Compensation: $35.00 per hour

(Competitive shift differentials for nights and weekends)

Qualifications

Minimum requirements

• Must possess "Active" CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or state equivalent.

• Proof of graduation required: college transcript/diploma (preferred) or high school transcript/diploma or GED.

• Possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date.

• Current state licensure is required.

• ACLS is required upon hire. (Agency RT must have ACLS upon first shift)

Preferred qualifications

• One (1) year of related experience is preferred.
