Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital Birmingham is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join our team on the 3rd floor of Brookwood Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, AL. This PRN Day shift role offers $35.00 per hour with differential for nights and weekends, plus a thorough orientation to help you transition into our post-ICU care setting.

• Must possess Active CRT or RRT credential from NBRC or state equivalent.
• Proof of graduation required: transcript/diploma or GED.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date.
• Current state licensure is required.
• ACLS is required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Evaluating patients and recommending an appropriate treatment plan.
• Providing respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions.
• Performing insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes.
• Promoting continuous quality improvement.
• Teaching and counseling patients/families.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Location: Birmingham, AL (3rd floor of Brookwood Baptist Medical Center)
Schedule: PRN Day shift - 6:30 am to 7:00 pm
Compensation: $35.00 per hour
(Competitive shift differentials for nights and weekends)

Minimum Requirements

• Must possess "Active" CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or state equivalent.
• Proof of graduation required: college transcript/diploma (preferred) or high school transcript/diploma or GED.
• Possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date.
• Current state licensure is required.
• ACLS is required upon hire. (Agency RT must have ACLS upon first shift)

Preferred Qualifications

• One (1) year of related experience is preferred.
