Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess – Milton is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a per diem, rotating schedule. The therapist will independently initiate, monitor and discontinue both invasive and non-invasive ventilator support in acute and outpatient settings.

The role requires Massachusetts licensure, BLS is required and ACLS preferred. Strong communication and patient-service orientation are essential as you collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and participate in rapid response actions.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of respiratory care or qualified by experience and state licensure.
• Registered, or registry eligible, certification preferred.
• Current Massachusetts licensure.
• BLS Certification required, ACLS certification preferred.
• Excellent verbal communication skills/customer service oriented in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Initiate, monitor and discontinue invasive and non-invasive ventilator support.
• Provide airway care, tracheostomy care, nebulizer therapy, chest physiotherapy, ABG sampling.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary care team to assess and provide optimal patient care.
• Participate in Rapid Response and Code Blue events.

The Therapist is responsible for the respiratory care of all patient populations seeking medical assistance in the Acute and Outpatient Settings**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:** Performs assessment, diagnostic testing, prescribed treatment and care of the respiratory therapy patient. Evaluates effectiveness of treatment and maintains department records.
