Job summary

Unger Park Post Acute is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner to provide therapy, management, rehabilitation, diagnostic evaluation and direct patient care in an acute/subacute setting. The role supports interdisciplinary teams and adheres to facility policies while protecting patient confidentiality.

Required include an associate degree, respiratory care program completion, and CPR/BLS with ACLS certifications; one year of relevant experience is preferred. A BS in health care is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must possess at least an Associate Degree from an accredited school.
• Graduate of a respiratory care program; BS degree preferred.
• Minimum of one year respiratory therapy experience in an acute or subacute unit.

Responsibilities

• Receive and follow schedule/instructions from your supervisor and policies.
• Adheres to facility policies and procedures of the respiratory care department.
• Performs focused interview to identify patient needs.
• Assesses signs and symptoms and documents diagnoses.
• Plans for outcomes of care and implements plan of care.
• Adheres to infection control and safety procedures.
• Reports changes in respiratory status to supervisor/physician as needed.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information and reports unauthorized disclosures.
