Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Demonstrate competency in respiratory therapeutics and equipment use.
• Maintain accurate documentation.
• Apply analytical reasoning and blend patient care with technical skills.
• Communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
• Proficiency in quality control and maintenance of diagnostic equipment.
• Maintain regular, punctual attendance per policies.
• Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Education/Training:

• Associate or BSc in Respiratory Care or Cardiopulmonary Sciences.
• Intermediate floor training as per Orlando Health’s Respiratory Clinical Ladder.
• Basic computer and mechanical skills.

Licensure/Certification:

• Florida license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• Credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). RRTs registered after July 2002 must maintain active status and renew every five years; those registered before are exempt from renewal.
• Current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.
• Advanced Life Support as appropriate.
• Active membership in the AARC and FSRC, with new members required to join within 90 days.
