Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to assess and provide respiratory care for neonate to adult patients. The role involves nights, a 2-weekend-per-month requirement, rotating holidays, and eligibility for full-time benefits.

Key duties include performing routine and complex modalities, documenting care, and coordinating with the care team to optimize patient outcomes. A sign-on bonus is offered and tuition support is available through the academy program.

Qualifications

• Associate’s of Science Degree with a certificate in Respiratory Care required.
• Bachelor’s of Science Degree with a certificate in Respiratory Care preferred.
• 3–6 months of on-the-job experience to gain knowledge of hospital policies and routines.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP certifications required; may require within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and complex modalities of respiratory care independently.
• Documents procedures and patient assessments in the medical record system.
• Updates care plans and goals to reflect patient needs.
• Receives and interprets physician orders and evaluates patient progress.
• Communicates with the care team and provides reports to oncoming staff.
• Maintains protocol-based therapy and strives for patient satisfaction.
