Job summary

Qualifications

• AS degree with a certificate in Respiratory Care required.
• 3–6 months of on-the-job experience to gain knowledge of hospital policies and routines.
• CRT with the National Board of Respiratory Care required at time of hire; RCP license for work state; BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine modalities of respiratory care independent of direct supervision.
• Documents procedures in the patient record.
• Updates patient care plans and goals.
• Receives and interprets physician orders; evaluates patients with attending physician.
• Recommends appropriate care based on clinical guidelines; communicates with care team.
