Job summary

St. Luke's Milwaukee is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to support patient assessments and therapy delivery. You will operate ventilators, assist physicians, and educate patients on therapy goals and self-care.

Requires RCP license or NBRC credentials and an associate degree, plus BLS. Schedule is 0.9 FTE, nights with a large weekend differential. Siogn-on bonus of $20,000 is offered, along with loan forgiveness and tuition assistance opportunities.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited respiratory care program, with a minimum of an associate degree.
• Licensure as Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) and NBRC credentials (RRT or CRT) within required time frame.
• BLS for Healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Uses Respiratory therapy processes to support assessment of patient.
• Operates ventilators in critical and non-critical care venues.
• Assists physician with bedside procedures and administers prescribed therapies.
• Educates patients on therapy purpose, technique, and self-care.
• Maintains and troubleshoots equipment; reports safety issues and near misses.
• Teaches and precepts new teammates and students.
