Job summary

Methodist Dallas Medical Center is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to perform ABG, PFTs, ventilator support and oxygen therapy for adults and neonates. You will work under indirect supervision, ensuring quality and compassionate respiratory care following department policies.

Requirements include a respiratory care program degree, Texas license, NBRC registration, and certifications (BLS/ACLS); 6+ months' experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program with licensure in Texas.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• NRP/PALS must be obtained within 1 year of hire; NBRC registered.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration and weaning, humidity therapy and airway maintenance.
• Conduct cardiopulmonary diagnostic procedures: ABG, pulse oximetry, PFTs, ECGs.
• Prepare treatment evaluations with bedside assessment and chart review.
• Interpret CXR, ABG and PFT data to guide care.
• Operate, check and troubleshoot ventilators and related CP equipment.
• Support infection control, safety and quality assurance activities.
• Assist with cleaning and maintenance of equipment and work areas.

Skills

BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

NRP / PALS within 1 year

Respiratory care experience

Education

Graduate of accredited Respiratory Care Program

Texas license in good standing (Respiratory Care Practitioner)
