Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health’s New Brunswick facility seeks a Respiratory Therapist Lead to provide and oversee respiratory care on the night shift. The role directs staff, implements physician orders, and ensures high-quality patient care in the Respiratory Care Department.

The ideal candidate holds a valid RRT with NBRC, BLS, and NJ licensure, with at least two years of experience. Leadership in neonatal/pediatric areas and ACLS/PALS/NRP are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Respiratory Care program with a diploma or A.A.S. in Respiratory Care (or equivalent).
• Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with NBRC credential.
• Current New Jersey license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association required.
• Minimum of two years of Respiratory Care experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide and oversee therapeutic, supportive, and diagnostic respiratory services.
• Transcribe and implement physician orders; supervise orientation of new staff.
• Lead educational activities for Respiratory, Nursing, and Medical staff.
• Develop training programs and participate in continuing education.
• Act as a resource to patients, families, and clinical staff; ensure equipment readiness.
