Job summary

Wellstar Health Systems is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to administer and manage respiratory care per physician orders and clinical standards. The RT will function as a workgroup leader coordinating care for the assigned unit.

The role requires 2+ years of experience, BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP certificates, and ability to collaborate with physicians, nurses and other clinicians to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Associates Respiratory Therapy or Bachelors Respiratory Therapy preferred
• Current BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP certifications required or instructor options may apply
• Minimum 2 years of experience in respiratory care
• Licensed respiratory therapist in good standing

Responsibilities

• Acts as care coordinator for the assigned unit.
• Develops and modifies respiratory care plans in collaboration with physicians and nurses.
• Demonstrates competency in invasive and non-invasive procedures and equipment.
• Serves as respiratory consultant to hospital service lines.
• Attends daily patient rounds and documents care accordingly.
• Maintains knowledge of respiratory medications and pharmacology.
• Participates in quality improvement projects and infection prevention measures
• Assists in patient discharge education to families.
