Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to administer and manage respiratory care per physician orders and clinical standards in an acute care setting. The role includes leading a workgroup, coordinating care and supporting patients and families.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in critical care, holds a current Georgia respiratory license, and maintains essential certifications (BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP).

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy is required; Bachelor's preferred.
• Active BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications upon hire.
• Current Georgia Respiratory Care Professional license or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Develops and administers Respiratory Patient Care Plans in the acute care setting.
• Communicates, collaborates and coordinates with physicians, nurses and other clinicians.
• Serves as a respiratory consultant to all hospital service lines.
• Attends daily patient rounds and documents care per policy.
• Maintains certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP) and participates in quality improvement.
• Provides discharge education to patients and families.
