Job summary

Inova Fairfax Hospital is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist Transport 1 to join our team. This full‑time role requires a night shift (36 hours/week) from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with weekends.

We offer sign‑on and relocation bonuses to attract top talent for neonatal, pediatric and adult transport patients. The therapist will demonstrate advanced ventilator management, lead interfacility transport initiatives, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to ensure high‑quality care.

Qualifications

• Experience: 3 years in PICU or other relevant ICU setting.
• Graduate of an accredited CoARC respiratory care program.
• Certification: BLS, PALS, NPR, ACLS from AHA upon start.
• Certification: Neonatal Pediatric Specialist Respiratory Care and RRT Adult Critical Care with 12 months.
• License: RRT upon start and VA license.
• Work environment: Adult Cardiovascular Patients.
• Pediatric certifications required upon start only if role is directly associated with PEDS.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical, leadership, and quality‑driven respiratory care for transport patients, with advanced proficiency.
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and direct care for neonatal, pediatric and adult transport patients.
• Validate results and develop respiratory plans based on data and response to therapy.
• Communicate effectively with Transport team, patients, families and community facilities.
• Administer basic and advanced respiratory interventions and manage transport ventilators with minimal supervision.
