Job summary

Mercy Medical Center Redding is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join an established team delivering specialized cardiopulmonary care. You will manage ventilators, oxygen therapies, CPAP, and related therapies while developing care plans with strong assessment and SBAR communication skills.

You will perform daily pulmonary mechanics, collect data for ventilator weaning rounds, and assist in bronchoscopy and bedside pulmonary tests, working within Mercy’s trauma and NICU services.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate degree in Respiratory Care and CA provisional license.
• BLS/CPR and advanced life support credentials required.
• RN/RCP certifications in neonatal/pediatric areas favored.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute plan of care integrating diagnostic data and department standards.
• Perform CPAP and in-house transport of ventilated patients.
• Conduct comprehensive respiratory assessments and communicate SBAR to the team.
• Perform daily pulmonary mechanics on eligible ventilated patients.
• Present data at ventilator-weaning rounds and discuss care options with physicians.
• Assist in bronchoscopy and bedside pulmonary function testing as needed.
