Qualifications

The role you’ll contribute:

Provides routine, emergent, and critical cardiopulmonary care under the direction of a physician to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Adheres to the Corporate Compliance Plan, regulations of all local, state, and federal agencies, and standards of accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and maintains respectful relationships with all.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

• Delivers routine respiratory treatments and continuous respiratory therapy including aerosol therapy, lung expansion therapy, oxygen therapy, and bronchial hygiene according to policies and procedures.
• Monitors, assesses, and reassesses patient progress, recommending changes in respiratory care as needed based on clinical data.
• Instructs and coaches patients before, during, and after treatments, preventing or resolving side effects, and adjusting therapies accordingly.
• Maintains a supportive environment conducive to quality care, department growth, staff development, and high morale.
• Initiates and maintains mechanical ventilation, adjusts ventilator settings, responds to alarms, troubleshoots, and facilitates weaning processes based on patient progress.

Qualifications

The expertise and experience you’ll need to succeed:

• Must be registered (RRT) or certified (CRT) prior to 2000 by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
• PALS and/or NRP must be obtained within 90 days if required by the hospital.
• Must have a valid Florida license issued by the Agency for Healthcare Administration of Florida.

Preferred qualifications:

• One year of critical care experience.
• S.T.A.B.L.E certification.
