Job summary

Valley Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist I to join the Pulmonology & Sleep team. The position covers neonatal to geriatric patients, performing assessments, education, and therapy per physician orders.

Active participation in a multidisciplinary team and adherence to policies ensure high-quality patient care. Candidates must complete an accredited respiratory care program, hold RCP licensure, and NBRC CRT/RRT certification.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited respiratory care program is required.
• Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) required.
• NBRC CRT or RRT certification required.
• Virginia license pathway for graduates (RTA) available after graduation in some cases.
• New graduates encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Administers all therapy modalities per physician orders and/or protocols.
• Performs SpO2 monitoring via pulse oximetry (overnight, exercise, continuous, spot checks).
• Performs airway clearance therapy.
• Operates and monitors cardiopulmonary equipment and ventilators.
• Conducts regular patient assessments and documentation in the EHR.
• Assists in bedside therapeutic bronchoscopies and intubations as needed.
• Responds to rapid response, code situations, and trauma activations.
