Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina - MUHA is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to assist in diagnosing, treating and managing patients with pulmonary disorders. You will collect sputum, blood and breath specimens and measure lung capacity to assess function, while administering physician-prescribed respiratory care.

Education includes an AAS in Respiratory Care; licensure as RRT/CRT by NBRC and SC Board of Medical Examiners. Current BLS certification is required.

Qualifications

• AAS in Respiratory Care from an AMA approved School of Respiratory Therapy.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) by the NBRC.
• Licensed by the SC Board of Medical Examiners.
• 10-12 years of professional experience in lieu of Registration.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification or Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers.

• Assists in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with pulmonary disorders.
• Collects and analyzes sputum, blood, and breath specimens to determine levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases.
