Job summary

MUSC Children's Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with pulmonary disorders. You will perform respiratory care procedures, analyze specimens, and oversee therapy technicians on a 36-hour weekly schedule in Charleston, SC.

Required are an AAS in Respiratory Care, NBRC RRT/CRT licensure, and BLS certification. The role demands physical stamina and the ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Collects and analyzes sputum, blood, and breath specimens to determine levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases. Also measures the lung capacity of a patient to determine if there is impaired function. Administers treatment prescribed by a physician for the care of patients with abnormalities associated with the process of breathing. Assumes primary responsibility for respiratory care treatments, including oversight of respiratory therapy technicians. Weekends/ holidays/emergency team as required

CTM hired after August 30,2025 must be Registered with-in 18 months of being hired. Work Experience: 0-2 years Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
