The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for assessing patient/client respiratory equipment needs, selecting appropriate equipment, providing instruction, and troubleshooting to meet those needs.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Respiratory Therapist:

1. Comply with all applicable company policies, procedures, patient protocols, government regulations, and professional standards regarding patient care.
2. Assess patient/client needs and determine the best equipment and/or services to meet those needs.
3. Involve the patient/client and/or family and caregivers in the selection process.
4. Instruct patients/clients in the proper use and care of equipment according to policies and procedures.
5. Communicate with physicians regarding changes in condition or needs and adjust the Plan of Care/Treatment accordingly.
6. Complete patient/client paperwork, including the Plan of Care/Treatment and assessments, and maintain records as per company policy.
7. Act as a liaison among the patient/client, family, caregiver, physician, and healthcare agencies.
8. Participate in educational meetings and seminars for healthcare workers, patients, families, and community members.
9. Assist in resolving emergency equipment problems.
10. Assist with preventive maintenance and environmental assessments of respiratory equipment during scheduled visits.
11. Provide clinical respiratory services as ordered, including care planning, assessments, discharge planning, training, therapy, and education to reduce hospital readmissions.
12. Monitor respiratory supply levels and reorder stock as approved.
13. Assume on-call responsibilities during non-business hours as per company policy.
14. Develop technical knowledge of respiratory products/services and educate others about them.
15. Participate in professional education to stay current with techniques, standards, and products.
16. Maintain professional skills, attitudes, and licensure in all relevant states.
17. Promote the company positively and professionally.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited respiratory care program.
• Two-year hospital-based respiratory care experience preferred.
• One-year home care experience preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of respiratory care.
• Ability to supervise clinical personnel effectively.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Genuine desire to help others.
• Understanding of insurance requirements (Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance).

Pay Rate: Starting at $40/hr. Based on experience + $5000 Sign-On Bonus
