Job summary

Paulding Care Community is seeking a qualified Respiratory Therapist to assess, treat, and care for residents with respiratory needs. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care and maintain a safe environment for our residents.

The role includes developing therapy programs, leading staff training, and ensuring compliance with standards, while supporting residents and their families with compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered Respiratory Therapist license in this state.
• Ability to understand and communicate in English.
• Ability to make independent decisions when appropriate.
• Knowledge of respiratory supply practices, procedures, and guidelines.
• Ability to minimize waste and misuse of equipment.
• Willingness to adopt new methods and principles.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and direct respiratory therapy programs and activities in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
• Collaborate with administration, medical and nursing staff to plan therapy services.
• Provide emergency care and bronchodilator therapies when needed.
• Perform pulmonary function tests and adjust equipment for optimal therapy.
• Develop orientation and training programs for staff and students.
• Inspect and maintain respiratory therapy equipment for safety and performance.
• Assist in care planning and resident assessment coordination with physicians.
