Job summary

Roxborough Memorial Hospital is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner I to join our award-winning team in Philadelphia. The role focuses on performing respiratory therapy and pulmonary diagnostics as ordered by physicians, with patient-age appropriate care planning and documentation.

The position requires an active RCP license and NBRC-CRT certification, plus BLS, ACLS and PALS within stated timelines. Two years of acute care experience is preferred; a BS degree is favored.

Qualifications

• Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.
• Current Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) from NBRC required.
• BLS certification from AHA or ARC upon hire and maintained.
• ACLS certification from AHA or ARC within 60 days of hire and maintained.
• PALS certification from AHA or ARC within 60 days of hire and maintained.
• Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care preferred.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program certificate upon hire and maintained or obtained within 60 days.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of acute care experience required.

Responsibilities

• Under direction of the medical director and cardiopulmonary director, perform respiratory therapy and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the physician.
• Lead RCP responsibilities may be assigned during shifts in absence of a supervisor.

Roxborough Memorial Hospital is a 131-bed community hospital. The hospital has been serving the medical and health care needs of the Roxborough, Manayunk, East Falls and northwest section of Philadelphia communities for more than a century, having first opened its doors in 1890. Roxborough Memorial Hospitals School of Nursing has been educating nurses since 1898. The hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, the nation's oldest and largest hospital accreditation agency.

Responsibilities

Under the direction and authorization of the medical director and cardiopulmonary director/manager, the RCP I is responsible for performing respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the physician. Emphasis will be toward the assessment, planning, implementation and documentation of care, with consideration of age and population specific needs and requirements of the patient. In the absence of a supervisor, may be assigned/identified as Lead RCP, having responsibility for the section or department during their shift.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.


• Current Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required. Hired before March 2026,are exempt


• Basic Life Support (BLS) certified from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire and maintain current.


• Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the AHA or ARC certification within 60 days of hire and maintain current.


• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the AHA certification within 60 days of hire and maintain current.


• Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.


• Neonatal Resuscitation Program certificate is upon hire and maintain current or obtained within 60 days of hire.


• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.


• Two (2) years of acute care experience required.
