Job summary

Garden City Hospital, a member of Prime Healthcare, is seeking an RCP II to join an award-winning team of dedicated professionals in a night shift position.

The role focuses on performing respiratory therapies and pulmonary diagnostics under physician order, with emphasis on assessment, planning, implementation and documentation of patient care, while addressing age-specific needs. Part-time schedule with nights.

Qualifications

• Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from NBRC or obtained within three months of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at hire and maintained.
• Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required at hire and maintained.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required at hire or within 60 days of hire.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification preferred.
• Two years of acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the physician.
• Assist with assessment, planning, implementation and documentation of patient care with age-specific needs.

Responsibilities

Under the direction and authorization of the medical director and cardiopulmonary director, the RCP II is responsible for performing respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the physician. Emphasis will be toward the assessment, planning, implementation and documentation of care, with consideration of age and population specific needs and requirements of the patient. In the absence of a supervisor, may be assigned/identified as Lead RCP, having responsibility for the section or department during their shift.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certified from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire and maintain current.
• Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the AHA or ARC certification upon hire and maintain current.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the AHA certification upon hire and maintain current or obtained within 60 days of hire.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program certificate is preferred.
• Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
• Two (2) years of acute care experience is preferred.
