Job summary

Garden City Hospital, part of Prime Healthcare, seeks a Respiratory Care Practitioner II for night shifts. Under the medical director and cardiopulmonary director, you will perform respiratory therapies and pulmonary diagnostics, prioritizing patient-age specific needs.

If the supervisor is absent, you may be designated Lead RCP for the shift. Required: state RCP license, NBRC RRT or within 3 months, BLS, ACLS, and PALS; neonatal resuscitation preferred; associate or BS degree preferred; two

Qualifications

• BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS certifications required or obtained within 60 days of hire.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program certificate preferred.
• Associate degree or BS degree preferred.
• Two years of acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the physician.
• Assess, plan, implement and document care with attention to patient age-specific needs.
• May serve as Lead RCP in the absence of a supervisor and supervise the section/department during the shift.

Responsibilities

Under the direction and authorization of the medical director and cardiopulmonary director, the RCP II is responsible for performing respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the physician. Emphasis will be toward the assessment, planning, implementation and documentation of care, with consideration of age and population specific needs and requirements of the patient. In the absence of a supervisor, may be assigned/identified as Lead RCP, having responsibility for the section or department during their shift.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certified from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire and maintain current.
• Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the AHA or ARC certification upon hire and maintain current.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the AHA certification upon hire and maintain current or obtained within 60 days of hire.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program certificate is preferred.
• Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
• Two (2) years of acute care experience is preferred.
