Responsibilities

• Sets up, operates, and administers respiratory care equipment and procedures.
• Evaluates therapeutic objectives and transcribes physician orders into the medical record.
• Operates and monitors mechanical ventilators and makes appropriate changes.
• Performs arterial puncture, blood gas analysis, co-oximetry, EKGs, and electrolytes.
• Performs routine respiratory therapies and oxygen administration for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients.
• Documents treatments and patient responses in the medical record promptly.
