Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health in Massachusetts seeks a Respiratory Therapist to provide chest therapy, ventilatory support, and diagnostic services. You will assist physicians, perform bronchoscopies for ventilated patients, monitor therapy effectiveness, and ensure precise documentation in EMAR and charts.

You will educate patients and families, uphold infection control practices, and collaborate with nurses and staff while rotating through shifts to meet department needs.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts license is required.
• Minimum of 1 year related experience in respiratory care.
• Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work accurately under stressful conditions.

Responsibilities

• Administers chest PT, therapeutic gases, aerosols, and humidification with various techniques.
• Monitors and evaluates effectiveness of respiratory care modalities and records procedures.
• Assists physicians with bronchoscopies and bedside procedures; supports patient transport.
• Assumes charge position as assigned to lead staff toward outcomes for therapy.
• Cleans and processes respiratory equipment; staffs Pulmonary Function Lab as needed.
• Coordinates care and shares on-call responsibilities for after-hours coverage.
