Job summary

Ochsner Health System is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive respiratory care, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support for inpatients and outpatients. The role includes monitoring ABG and EKGs, and assisting with airway management as ordered by physicians.

The position requires an Associate's degree, active Respiratory Therapist license, NBRC certification, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required.
• Current license as a Respiratory Therapist.
• NBRC certification as a Respiratory Therapist.
• BLS certification required.
• NRP certification for NICU staff.
• ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and advanced respiratory procedures per policy.
• Reviews and documents clinical information for each patient.
• Educates patients and coworkers on procedures and treatment plans.
• Performs diagnostic procedures (ABG, EKGs).
• Provides age-appropriate care and maintains current certifications.
