Qualifications

• Current Ohio Respiratory Care Professional License.
• RRT or CRT credential.
• Experience with NIV (BiPAP/CPAP) or willingness to learn.
• Skilled nursing, long-term care, or acute care experience preferred.
• Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess, initiate, monitor NIV therapy (BiPAP/CPAP).
• Perform respiratory assessments and identify residents who may benefit from respiratory services.
• Administer respiratory treatments and therapies as ordered.
• Assist residents with incentive spirometry use and pulmonary hygiene.
• Educate residents, families, and staff on respiratory equipment and therapies.
• Document assessments, treatments, and therapy compliance in the EMR.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing, admissions, and clinical leadership.
• Support respiratory evaluations for prospective admissions and identify residents who may benefit from respiratory services.
• Assist with development and growth of the facility's respiratory therapy program.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and respiratory education for staff.
• Provide additional respiratory therapy coverage, including on-call support, as needed.
